Andisheh Center's Gift to City of Portland, December 2011

December 8, 2011
Mayor Sam Adams, Portland

On December 8th, 2011, Andisheh Center formally presented a gift to the City of Portland and Mayor Sam Adams in appreciation for their recognition and support of the 12th annual Iranian Summer Festival on August 6th. The gift included a hand woven elegant Termeh cloth which was first given to the mayor during the summer festival. The gift adorns the wall of the main conference room in City Hall where the mayor holds his meetings with international dignitaries.

Ms. Ano Yousefian, the Director of Ano's Art Academy developed the idea for framing the gift and put energy, time, and funds into creating a truly beautiful work of art to do justice to this piece of handmade Iranian textile. The Termeh cloth was a donation to Andisheh Center by Art of Persia store in Portland. Representatives from Andisheh Center's Board and Advisory Council, and major festival sponsors Ziba Design and Portland Implant Center were present during this event. If you are near the City Hall in downtown Portland, do drop by to see the gift.

We thank all our sponsors and volunteers, especially Cheshmoon photography, who have made all our events and the summer festivals a success for all to enjoy!"
